Our pre-seed plan

A $1M pre-seed, planned over 18 months in three cases: our plan, a middle case and a worst case. Each shows what we spend, what we earn, when we raise the seed, how long the money lasts, and what we cut if things go wrong.

Where we are

How Fraktal makes money

A customer gets the full value of Fraktal once they have two tools running on their own data. So we start every customer with a done-for-you build, then move them to self-serve.

Step 1 · Done for you

$2,000 to $8,000 / month

For about three months we build their first two tools with Fraktal: an SEO and AI-search tool, and a LinkedIn (or X) tool. We estimate three founders can serve about 10 customers at a time, and two hires take that to 15 or 20. Neither number is proven yet; the first customers will tell us.

Step 2 · Self-serve

$799 / month

Once the two tools run, they move to self-serve: unlimited new tools, access to the Fraktal brain, and credits for our models (or their own keys). Two live tools for $799 replace several subscriptions. Some customers will instead keep us running their go-to-market, and some will leave; each case below sets those shares.

Pricing headroom. Comparable done-for-you GTM services charge $5,000 to $15,000 a month. Our first customers, mostly from your portfolio and Paul's, are early partners at $2,000 to $3,000 a month. After the first five we will know how valuable the service is, and we raise the price as we go.

The calendar

The seed takes three to four months to raise, and almost nothing moves in August or over the holidays. So we work backwards from the day the seed money must be in the bank.

Dec 2026Pre-seed closes: you and our angels. Month 1 of the plan.
Jan to Feb 2027YC or speedrun money arrives, if we are accepted; both programs are in person in San Francisco.
Aug 2027The numbers we raise the seed on must be in place.
Sep to Nov 2027Raise the seed, before the holidays.
Jan 2028Seed money in the bank.
May 2028The pre-seed must still last to here if the seed slips.

Three cases

How the round fills

  1. You, first. Before any accelerator decides.
  2. Aron Starosta (UE Labs), who has offered to invest, then one to three more angels on the same terms.
  3. If accepted, YC ($500K) or a16z speedrun ($500K) on their standard terms.

Everyone in the round signs the same YC post-money SAFE, so the cap table stays simple for the seed. All three cases assume $1M raised in total.

Equity for the team we hire

We will reserve an option pool for early employees, about 5% now, topped up at the seed. Every grant vests over four years with a one-year cliff.

As our advisor we would love what you already give us: a CIO's perspective on what buyers need, help with strategy, road map and go-to-market, and introductions to VCs, partners and customers. We'd suggest a monthly working session with all three of us, and Bojan would like to meet you for a coffee in New York.

We would like to sign as soon as the company's formation and bank account are complete.
